Pharmacy Internship for Incoming P1s and Rising P2s
Red Rock Pharmacy is a long-term care pharmacy that provides medications to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health and hospice patients. We are growing fast and looking to hire students who are passionate and looking to establish a career with us. We have many pharmacies in various locations and are adding new locations every year, so there are plenty of opportunities for dedicated students once they graduate.
Examples of tasks students will perform include, but are certainly not limited to:
- Learning about and performing IV antibiotic dose management
- Preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds
- Learning about, managing, and utilizing emergency kits and cubex machines
- Using operational and clinical knowledge to triage phone calls from other health professionals
- Entering, processing, billing orders correctly
- Filling, ordering, and managing the inventory of medications
- Performing medication reviews and making medication recommendations
- Attending interprofessional meetings regarding quality assurance and psychotropic medication use
Requirements:
- Proof of Intern License
- We have a very flexible schedule and are happy to work around your needs, but strongly prefer for interns to work at least 12 hours/week
The field of long-term care pharmacy is an exciting and rewarding one that is fast-paced and diverse in opportunities. There is a lot of space in our company for pharmacy students to grow into competent, reliable pharmacists with many essential skills.
